Portonovi resort is designed as an elegant Montenegrin village. It has the character, charm and ambience of a long-established settlement. Its graceful pedestrian environment reflects the surrounding architecture of the Adriatic coast, while echoing the style of vernacular towns such as Herceg Novi, Kotor, Perast and Dubrovnik.
In order to achieve unique, harmonized, yet varied concept, the Client engaged internationally renowned specialists such as Harper Downie, LMS International, Harrods Interiors and Alpina Spa.
D/A took the role of Executive designer for one part of the Portonovi complex, developing architecture, structure, MEP and fire fighting concept up to successful completion of design.
PORTONOVI LOWER VILLAGE
Luxury apartments with underground car park, retail spaces, community pools and common pedestrian walkways with water features and greenery.
Lower Village is designed as a low-rise Mediterranean village community. Residential buildings are connected to the local landscape and include a selection of elegant pop-up stores, terraces and kiosks. Wide waterfront promenades and winding, asymmetrical streets weave past local stone buildings to reveal hidden piazzas, alcoves and step-like cornices, giving it the character, charm and ambiance of a long-established settlement. Community pools are surrounded by lush planting and sculptural trees. Thanks to its graceful pedestrian environment, Lower Village has a relaxed atmosphere where people enjoy the experience of the high-end boutiques and restaurants that complement Portonovi Marina. Portonovi Lower Village is human scaled. All buildings are low-rise, four floors being the maximum height for any building apart from specific landmarks features, with high-quality materials creating different looks and feels.
